Christ Taylor LLP focuses on leading-edge employee benefit programs, and protecting families and business with life insurance plans, and managing the financial risks of longevity with long term care and retirement strategies. Our Strategic Partner relationship with Benefit Concepts, Inc., one of the largest employee benefits providers in Texas, gives us access to Elite Carrier Status and platinum service standards which affords us a distinct advantage for our clients.
Using our professional experience and unique discovery process, we serve 120 corporate employers, ranging from small to large. We develop long-term client relationships with a high touch / hands on approach to education, open communication and results-driven performance. Proudly we say that some client relationships now span more than 30 years.
Founded by James E. Christ, Christ Taylor LLP is a family-owned insurance brokerage firm built on a tradition of integrity. With offices Houston, the Partners and Associates at Christ Taylor LLP deal directly with each client and put their more than 100 years of combined insurance experience and expertise to work for you.
James E. Christ, CLU, Rodney B. Christ, LUTCF and Terrell O. Taylor, Jr., CLU, are the principals of our firm. We do not utilize account executives. Our partners are active in all facets of the client relationship and remain this way for new business, as well as renewals.
James E. Christ, CLU
James E. Christ, CLU, is a founding Partner of Christ Taylor LLP. He began his career in the early 60’s with Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company. In 1981, he formed James E. Christ & Associates which focused on Life Insurance as well as Employee Benefits. Over the years, the firm has evolved into Christ Taylor LLP, a Houston based Employee Benefit and Life Insurance brokerage firm.
Mr. Christ is a Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU), a member of the Houston and National Associations of Life Underwriters, the Society of Financial Services Professionals, and a Life Member of the Million Dollar Round Table. He has qualified for numerous industry and company awards.
After serving in the U.S. Army, Mr. Christ graduated from Texas A&M University, Class of 1958.
Mr. Christ is a past board member at St. Agnes Academy and served as the first Chairman of the St. Francis de Sales Church Parish Council. He is a volunteer at the Texas Institute for Rehabilitation and Research, and continues to serve as a fundraiser for several charitable organizations in the Houston area.
Jim and his wife, Joyce, have four adult children, 10 grandchildren and 3 greatgrandchildren.
Rodney B. Christ, LUTCF
Rodney B. Christ, LUTCF, is a Partner with Christ Taylor LLP, a Houston based Employee Benefit and Life Insurance brokerage firm. He began his career in 1989 with Minnesota Mutual Life Insurance Company and, in 1992, joined his father at James E. Christ & Associates where he has excelled in the employee benefits part of the business.
Mr. Christ, a native Houstonian and graduate of Sharpstown High School, earned his BBS Degree in Industrial Distribution from Texas A&M University, Class of 1988. He later earned the Life Underwriting Training Council Fellowship (LUTCF) designation from The American College.
Mr. Christ is a member of the Houston and National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors. He has been a frequent speaker and lecturer regarding current Employee Benefits topics with a specialty on Health Care Reform (ACA). Mr. Christ is involved in several local charities, and served in the past as a Director of the West University Little League. He is active in St. Luke’s Methodist Church and the Briar Club where he serves on several committees.
Rod and his wife, Carol, have two sons, Grayson and Colton.
Terrell O. Taylor, Jr., CLU
Terrell O. Taylor, Jr. is a Partner of Christ Taylor, LLP, a Houston based Employee Benefit and Life Insurance brokerage firm. He began his career in 1987 with John L. Skalla & Associates, the Houston General Agency for Connecticut Mutual Life Insurance Company. Prior to the formation of Christ Taylor Insurance, Terrell was a founding partner of Skalla-Taylor & Associates.
Mr. Taylor is the past President of the Houston Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (HAIFA), and was inducted into its Hall of Fame in 2005. In 2006, he served as President of the Houston Chapter of the Society of Financial Services Professionals, and as President of the HAIFA Foundation. He is also a member of the Houston Association of Health Underwriters, the Houston Estate and Financial Forum, Houston Business & Estate Planning Council, and a Life member of both the Texas Leaders Roundtable and the Million Dollar Round Table. Mr. Taylor was recognized as the 2014 Recipient of the John Neighbor’s Award presented by the Houston Chapter of the National Association of Life Underwriters.
Mr. Taylor holds a BBA from Texas Tech University and is currently serving on the Advisory Council for the Rawls School of Business at Texas Tech. He also holds a Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) designation from the American College.
Mr. Taylor has been active with numerous community and charitable organizations including the Galleria Chamber of Commerce, The Rotary Club of Houston, American Heart Association, Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, the Houston Chapter of the Coastal Conservation Association, and Young Life.
Terrell and his wife, Johnnie, have one son, Terrell O. Taylor, III “Trey”.
ROBERT “RENNIE” BAKER, JR.
Rennie Baker Jr. joined Christ Taylor LLP as an Associate in 2012, bringing over 30 years of experience in the financial services industry to the firm.
Prior to joining Christ Taylor LLP, Mr. Baker served clients at Cowen & Co., Raymond James, and LPL agency James E. Bashaw & Co. He has established and continues to develop strong business relationships over his tenure in the industry due to his knowledge of investments and insurance.
He attended Memorial High School in Houston and later received a BBA. Degree from the University of Texas at Austin.
Mr. Baker is a former Board Member of The Park People where he co-chaired the May Day Main Street Bike Ride, and he is currently an usher at St. Martin’s Church and is active in the church’s outreach ministry program.
Rennie and his wife Margaret have three adult children, Robert, William and Mary Ann
BRIAN L. ANDERSON
Brian L. Anderson joined Christ Taylor LLP in 2012 as an Associate. He began his career in 2007 with New England Financial, a MetLife Company, and soon was among the leading producers of life insurance, annuities and retirement plans in the Houston office. Mr. Anderson joined Christ Taylor LLP to expand and develop his practice so he can better serve his clients. .
A native Houstonian, Mr. Anderson graduated from Langham Creek High School and received his BBA Degree in Finance from Texas A&M University in 2007. He is also pursuing the Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) designation.
Brian is involved in several organizations including the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo (Directions and Assistance Committee), Houston Sports and Social Club, and Grace Bible Church in the Heights.
CHRISTINE SOMMER | Benefits Account Manager
Christine Sommer joined Christ Taylor LLP in 2014 as Benefits Administrator with 15 years of experience in the industry. Ms. Sommer serves our clients regarding all benefit plan issues and requirements such as eligibility, enrollment, and billing to name a few.
Ms. Sommer’s primary role is to promote and maintain solid client and vendor relationships through responsive and effective communication. Keeping our clients informed and being available to answer questions and handle concerns is a top priority. Chris also provides bilingual capabilities which brings value and depth to our service platform.
Ms. Sommer holds a Degree in Business Administration from Texas Christian University.
CHERI PEMBLE | Life Manager
Cheri Pemble began her insurance career in 1994 with James E. Christ & Associates, and has remained an invaluable asset to the firm.
Mrs. Pemble brings her 20 years of experience as Operations Manager to implement the policies and procedures of our agency operations, including financials, on a daily basis. She also assists our partners and associates with all Life Insurance submissions and handles the underwriting process from beginning to end. Cheri has maintained solid long term relationships with all of our clients and vendors.
Mrs. Pemble holds a PhD. In Hypnotherapy and conducts a professional practice outside of her responsibilities with Christ Taylor LLP.
SARAH E. SINIAHO | ACS, AIAA
Sarah Siniaho, ACS, AIAA joined Christ Taylor LLP in 2008 as Director of Business Development. Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Siniaho was Marketing Director for major insurance companies such as Connecticut Mutual, Mass Mutual and New England Financial.
With 30 years of industry experience, client retention and new business development is a primary focus. Our firm is dedicated to consistently providing our clients and prospects with resources and relevant information on topics impacting their business and family
Ms. Siniaho holds a B.A. Degree in Sociology from California State University, Northridge.
